Liberal Democrats select Milton Keynes North

At a hustings meeting in Milton Keynes on Friday Milton Keynes North Liberal Democrats selected Jill Hope to be their Parliamentary Candidate at the next General Election.

Welcoming the announcement, the Chair of Milton Keynes Local Party and previous NE MK PPC, Jane Carr, said: "Milton Keynes needs a strong advocate fighting for a better deal. Jill and I have been friends for many years and, as I am unable to continue due to family ill health, she has my full backing. Jill Hope is an experienced campaigner and will make an excellent PPC whom I look forward to introducing to local residents."

Jill Hope, the new Milton Keynes North Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) said: "Talking to local residents over recent weeks has made it really clear that the people in this area are tired of hearing excuses from successive Labour and Conservative Governments, instead of proper funding for police and the local health service.

Jill Hope The Government is taking money away from the taxpayers of Milton Keynes, when the growth this area is anticipating means that we need more funding, not less. I will be fighting for the full funding of our services to meet the needs of the residents of Milton Keynes."
