Vicky Booth, CGB Coordinator, has recently been promoted to the role of Diversity Officer within the Party. Whilst Vicky will still be overseeing CGB activities, we are looking for a motivated and well-organised volunteer to assist her with delivering the Campaign aims and objectives.
This role is an exciting opportunity to work first-hand on encouraging and supporting potential women candidates in the run up to the next General Election. The position would suit an individual looking for a long-term, part-time role, which would allow them to gain experience in this area of politics. The position will involve a varied and diverse workload, including targeted mailings, helping to organise training activities, and responding to phone and e-mail queries.
Essential skills:
· Well-organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively
· Able to take initiative and to work effectively within a team
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Good computer skills.
· Sympathy with the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats
Desirable:
· Proven commitment to gender and diversity issues
· Experience of organising training and/or other events
· Experience of campaigning, political or otherwise
· Previous experience of office-based administrative work
Please note: we would prefer the successful applicant to be able to commit to at least 16 hrs per week for a 6 month period or longer.
This is a voluntary position and unfortunately we can only pay expenses.
To apply, please send a CV and covering letter to Vicky Booth, at vicky.booth@libdems.org.uk. Unfortunately we cannot respond to applicants unless they are shortlisted.
Closing date: Monday 19th October
